After last weekends total washout, the second teams trip to Sebastopol was a victim of another bout of prolonged rainfall, but the Rec just about held out with the natural drainage pushed to the limit. The visitors were second division newcomers Cwm, and it was the away side who had the better of the opening half, although chances came and went for both sides. The Bleanau Gwent team were adapting to the conditions better and took the lead on the stroke of half time; pouncing on a loose kick in midfield before some slick passing put their forward through on goal and he made no mistake. As the elements continued to make things difficult the second half continued in much the same way as the first. The Wasps finally drew level as, somewhat dubiously, Jordan Jones beat the offside trap and rounded the keeper. Two of the visitors protested the decision too vociferously and were shown red cards, leaving the last five minutes as 11 against 9. Although the hosts pushed hard for what would have been a harsh winner, the game finished with a point apiece.

The pitch will take a much needed rest now as both teams are on their travels next week; the firsts will try again to play their Amateur Cup tie at Blackrock Rovers, while the seconds have the shorter trip over the mountain to Blaenavon Blues.
