Blaenavon Blues v Clydach Wasps / Clydach Wasps A v Blaenavon Blues A

This weekend sees the odd occurrance of a double header between one of our local rivals. The first team travel to the Co-op Field, just a few weeks before the Blues transfer to their new base on the outskirts of the town. After last weeks disappointing cup exit they'll be looking to make amends, though it will not be an easy task. The Blues had a week off last saturday with a bye in the County Motors Cup, and have had an up and down start to the league, but won their last match, a 1-0 home victory against Lliswerry.

The second teams of both clubs also do battle this weekend. The Blues reserves are generally quite a young side and have been one of our main rivals at the top of the Gwent Central, along with a couple of good cup battles. With the goals flowing at the moment confidence will be high in the team, but a tough encounter is expected at the Rec.

Prescoed v Clydach Wasps B
The third team make their first trip of the year to Prescoed on a high following three hard fought victories, but will need to raise their performance if they are to remain unbeaten. The home team are usually good starters to the season, and the fine weather should see their pitch set up for the passing game that both teams try to play.
