Clydach Wasps v Blaenavon Blues

After last weeks last minute cancellation, hopefully this Saturday will finally see all three sides get into action. The first team host near neighbours Blaenavon Blues, and will be looking to get into a run of form before next months big cup tie. Kris Lewis is still yet to serve the final game of his suspension, while Matt Edward and Nick Francis should have shaken off the injuries they picked up at Sudbrook. The visitors have played twice this year, and have been on the wrong end of both results, joining us in dropping out of the Amateur Cup in the third round as they lost 2-1 to Abertillery Excelsiors last week. They currently sit in mid table, though even on a poor run a local derby should see them make for a difficult opponent. It was the Wasps who took the spoils back in September when the two sides last met.

Govilon v Clydach Wasps B

Hopefully the Second team will finally enter 2010 as they make the short trip to the King George Fields. The team have not played since the routing of Abergavenny Thursdays, and will be happy just to get back into winning ways after such a long break. The team welcomes Matthew Williams back into the club after a spell with Tredegar Town, and hopefully Ryan Watkins will be in contention after returning to training in the week. The hosts sit in mid table, and are also yet to kick a ball in anger this year, so it could well be two rusty sides battling it out. The first game back in September saw the Wasps take the points with a 4-2 victory.

Pontypool Town B v Clydach Wasps B

After last weeks mauling at the hands of the champions elect, it's another big game for the Third team, as they travel to Albion Road to take on third in the table; Pontypool currently five points behind. With that result out of the way a victory on what is usually a sticky pitch will set them up for a good second half of the season. The hosts are yet to get a game this year, while the Wasps have won both games between the teams this season with home and away 2-1 victories.
