All good things must come to an end, and so the first teams unbeaten run was stopped by a very good Neuadd Wen side. There was nothing to choose between the two sides in the first half, two goals by Jace Williams being cancelled out by two from the visitors, but they stepped up a gear in the second half to take a 4-2 victory. Although a decent performance it was not enough against an experienced team who look like they will be challenging at the end of their season at this level.

The second team opened their campaign in disappointing fashion, crashing to an 8-1 defeat to Usk Town. Although they opened the scoring through Zack Baker, it was all downhill from their as a poor performance was compounded by individual errors that a young and clinical home side took advantage of. Both sides now have a week to dust themselves off before looking to produce a more positive Saturday afternoon.
