The first league game of the year saw the first three points of the season gained in an open and entertaining game at home to Coed Eva Athletic. With chances at both ends from the start, the hosts were indebted to an outstanding double save from Dai Pearce to keep the scores level, before Jordan Jones opened the scoring by prodding home a Ben Gifford cross. Coed Eva equalised with a smart finish of their own after twenty minutes, and the rest of the first half flew by as both sides attacked at will. A slightly tighter second period saw both sides have opportunities, but a much improved performance from the Wasps was rewarded by Jones grabbing his second of the night with a smart finish past the advancing keeper. Victory was sealed when a speculative Jace Williams strike was dropped by the visiting keeper through his legs and over the line. A fine start to the season.
