For the first time this season the club enjoyed a six point Saturday, with not only both teams picking up victories but also three players collecting hattricks.

The first team travelled to Pontypool to take on Sebastapol on their small and problematic pitch. Jason Powell opened the scoring with a screamer from left back, but the lead wasn't held long as the hosts equalised from a corner. Again the visitors went ahead, this time from the spot as Jordan Jones fired home, and as before, the home side again pulled level. Finally the Wasps hit their stride going forward as some great interplay between Jones and strike partner Jace Williams saw the latter grab two goals of his own from close range. Sebastapol weren't lying down though and came back with a third of their own. Williams though picked up his hattrick with the pick of the goals, driving home from fully thirty yards. At this point the score could have been anything, but the second half saw no more goals but plenty of guts and effort from both sides, the restrictive playing area accounting for many attempts at flowing football. Altogether though it was a pleasing three points, if a little closer than it should have been.

The second team got their season off and running with a convincing 7-0 victory over New Inn. Both Zack Baker and Connor Flook notched three goals, the former now on five goals in his first three games of senior football. Rhys Tutton followed his impressive showing for the first team the week before by grabbing the other goal. A deserved three points and hopefully the kick start the team needed going into a tough month of fixtures.

Both teams turn to cup action next Saturday; the first team hosting Sudbrook C.C. in the County Motors Cup while the seconds head to Pontypool Town in the Gwent Central Open Cup.
