Following last weeks disappointing FAW Trophy exit to Pontymister, the first team were again undone by a performance that saw them second best for long periods of the game against Tredegar Athletic. The Wasps did open the scoring and looked good value for it when Jordan Jones rounded the keeper and slotted into an empty net. The visitors equalised through a quick counter attack, and that seemed to drain all the confidence from the team. Athletic netted twice more to open up a commanding lead that until captain Marc Taylor halved with a neat far post volley never looked to be threatened. Tredegar held on though to take the points. Another disappointing performance that will hopefully be put right in next weeks trip to New Inn.

The second team put in a decent performance in a harsh defeat to Gilwern & District last week, but saw some reward for their efforts this week with a 3-3 draw away to Penygarn & Trevethin. With first senior goals for sixteen year olds Tom York and Jack Price adding to an own goal the reserves brought home a good point from a tough opponent. Finally a home game for them next week though as Crickhowell visit the Rec.
