With the second team having a scheduled week off for a change, it was all eyes on the first team as they welcomed Mathern to the village for what would surely be a tough assignment.

The Wasps were the quickest out of the blocks, some smooth football and quick thinking seeing Matthew Edward get free down the right before firing a cross cum shot towards the far post, seemingly helped into the net by a Mathern touch. That though only awoke the visitors, as it was them that got the upper hand and took control of the play, getting an equaliser after half an hour and leaving the hosts clinging on at times. It was another piece of quick thinking though that got the Wasps back in front; with a free kick awarded thirty yards out, after getting the ok from the referee Jason Powell struck a delightful free kick into the top right hand corner with the Mathern keeper still lining up his wall. The remainder of the half and the start of the second saw Clydach gain control and were rewarded when Jace Williams hit a low half volley through a crowd of players and into the bottom corner. The visitors responded though when a strike from outside the box found it's way into the Wasps net, before Williams doubled his tally and the lead when he finished off another slick passing move with a decisive finish. The final notable action saw a Mathern sub get his marching orders following a second reckless challenge.

This victory makes it four straight wins and pushes the side up into third, leading the pack chasing the first half of the seasons pace setters. It's all hopefully building towards a thrilling run in to the second division that we fully intend to play a major part in.
